The Role
You will manage a full criminal caseload—from misdemeanor to felony charges—taking ownership from intake to resolution. You will work closely with the Managing Partners to align legal strategies with the firm's business goals.
This role requires a dynamic individual who is a self-starter, adaptable to change, and capable of thinking on their feet in a courtroom. We are looking for a team player who understands that no task is too small—someone willing to wear many hats to ensure the team succeeds.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Handle a full caseload including all types of misdemeanors and felonies. Oversee progress from initial consultation through hearings, motions, trials, and post-trial procedures.
- Court Representation: Represent clients at all appearances (pretrial, motions, bench/jury trials) and present oral arguments in support of clients’ legal positions.
- Legal Writing & Research: Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery. Conduct thorough research on case law and statutes to develop strong defense strategies.
- Investigation: Interview witnesses, visit crime scenes, and analyze discovery materials to uncover inconsistencies.
- Client Relations: Maintain regular contact with clients, ensuring they understand the law and their case status.

Working Conditions
Exposure to traumatic subject matters including crime scenes and accidents.
Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 35 pounds for up to 300 feet.
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be licensed to practice law in Arizona and in Good Standing
- A min of 1 year experience in Criminal Law (Prosecution and/or Defense)
- Ability to analyze Case Law
- Must maintain a professional appearance and always provide a positive company image to the public and to our clients.
- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school
- Admission to, and good standing with the Arizona State Bar, upon hire
- A valid Arizona driver license which must be maintained throughout employment.
Personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations, but having interpersonal skills and a positive can-do attitude are just as important.
Salary
Attorneys will be compensated at a range of $120,000 - $165,000 annually DOE. Salary is commensurate with skill and experience and is negotiable. The compensation package includes base salary plus bonus compensation for production and performance.
Attorneys hired at tier I will be compensated at a range of $120.00 - $135.00 annually.
Attorneys hired at tier II will be compensated at a range of $135.00 – $165.00 annually.
The pay ranges listed above reflect the FULL pay range for each position. The salary offer is based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other Yuma County employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
