Description
McDonald Murholme is a leading employment law firm acting for employees nationwide. We are seeking a Lawyer to join our team in a role that offers hands-on experience, close mentoring from senior practitioners, and the opportunity to grow quickly within the firm.
General legal experience is acceptable, as training will be provided in employment law.
Key Responsibilities
Take initial instructions and prepare consult notes for new enquiries.
Draft legal documents, including correspondence, tribunal and court documents, and briefs to counsel.
Conduct legal research and prepare research memoranda.
Invoice clients and prepare costs materials.
File court and tribunal documents.
Instruct counsel and appear at conciliations, directions hearings, and mediations (with support as required).
Assist senior lawyers with general legal and administrative tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Law degree and admission to practise in Australia.
Current practising certificate.
Strong attention to detail and sound legal research and writing skills.
Confidence in written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently.
A keen interest in negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, and advocacy.
