Trusts & Estates Associate (1+ Years)
Location: Avon, CT
Schedule: Primarily office-based
Are you ready to work independently, connect directly with clients, and contribute to a thriving boutique Trusts and Estates practice?
We are a boutique Trusts & Estates practice seeking an attorney to step into a core role supporting and expanding our estate planning, probate, and trust administration practice. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, can manage matters from start to finish, and is comfortable contributing to business development—whether or not you arrive with a book of business.
What You’ll Do
Estate Planning
Attend and/or lead client meetings and assess planning goals
Draft wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents
Advise clients on tax-efficient estate and wealth-transfer strategies
Probate & Trust Administration
Manage probate proceedings and trust administration matters
Advise fiduciaries (executors, trustees, beneficiaries)
Prepare or review estate, income, and gift tax returns
Client Development & Relationships
Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients
Participate in client development, networking, and referral relationships
Help grow the practice in a way that aligns with your strengths and interests
Who We’re Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active member of the Connecticut Bar
1+ years of Trusts & Estates experience
Ability to independently manage matters and client relationships
Strong drafting, organizational, and communication skills
Self-starter mindset with a professional, client-focused approach
Book of business welcome—but not required
