Description
About Us
Athora Law Group isn't a traditional law firm—and we're intentional about that.
We are a women-owned law firm built on the belief that exceptional legal representation and genuine human connection belong together. Our attorneys work collaboratively rather than competitively. We mentor one another, celebrate each other's successes, and believe the best client outcomes come from a team that enjoys working together.
We value curiosity, kindness, accountability, and initiative. We look for people who are confident enough to ask questions, humble enough to keep learning, and motivated by helping clients through some of life's most important decisions.
Our symbol is the lion—bold, courageous, and protective—and those qualities define both how we advocate for our clients and how we support one another.
We recognize that every law firm has its own personality. Ours is collaborative, supportive, and relationship-focused. We genuinely enjoy working together, invest in each other's success, and believe kindness and professionalism can coexist with excellence. If you're looking for a workplace built on trust, mutual respect, and shared purpose, we'd love to meet you.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated associate attorney to join our close-knit, supportive team. This role is ideal for those who are just beginning their legal career or have up to two years of experience. As part of Athora Law Group, you’ll collaborate with experienced attorneys across our core practice areas—estate planning, business law, and litigation—while receiving mentorship designed to foster both professional and personal growth.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Client-Centered Advocacy: Provide thoughtful and tailored legal support to clients, ensuring their needs are met with care and professionalism.
- Legal Research & Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, concise legal briefs, contracts, and motions.
- Court Appearances: Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and court proceedings with the guidance of senior attorneys.
- Case Management: Support and manage case files, from discovery to trial preparation, ensuring a well-organized and efficient process.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with our diverse team in a collaborative environment that values different perspectives and open communication.
- Client Relationships: Cultivate meaningful client relationships with an emphasis on empathy and understanding.
What We're Looking For
- Education: JD from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in Indiana. Applicants also licensed in Michigan, or willing to become licensed, are preferred.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and empathy.
- Cultural Fit: We believe technical legal skills can be taught, but character matters from day one. We are looking for someone who enjoys collaboration over competition, communicates with empathy, takes ownership of their work, welcomes feedback, and contributes positively to a close-knit team. If you're looking for an environment where colleagues genuinely support one another rather than compete with one another, you'll likely feel at home here. We don't measure success by the number of hours someone sits at a desk. We measure it by the quality of their work, their commitment to our clients, their reliability as teammates, and the integrity with which they practice law.
- Adaptability: Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute in a dynamic legal setting.
Why Athora Law Group?
- Supportive Culture: Join a team that values professional excellence and personal sustainability, and a culture of mentorship and development.
- Growth Opportunities: At Athora, we provide ample opportunities for both professional and personal development through tailored mentorship and hands-on experience.
- Community Impact: We encourage our attorneys to get involved in community projects and initiatives that matter to them, reflecting our commitment to making a positive difference.
- Work-Life Integration: We have high expectations of ourselves and of one another because our clients deserve exceptional representation. We believe meaningful legal work requires commitment, responsiveness, and personal accountability. At the same time, we reject the idea that excellence requires constant exhaustion. We strive to create an environment where attorneys can build outstanding careers while also sustaining healthy, fulfilling lives outside the office.
Who Thrives Here?
Our attorneys tend to thrive if they:
- Enjoy building long-term relationships with clients rather than simply completing files.
- Believe practicing law should be both intellectually challenging and personally rewarding.
- Appreciate mentoring and being mentored.
- Prefer collaboration over internal competition.
- Are comfortable pitching in wherever needed as part of a growing firm.
- Value professionalism without sacrificing authenticity.
- Want to help shape the future of a firm rather than simply occupy a desk.
- Our attorneys are self-motivated professionals who take pride in producing exceptional work, communicate proactively, and understand that flexibility comes with accountability.
Finding the Right Fit Matters to Us
Every law firm has its own personality. Ours is collaborative, entrepreneurial, and relationship-centered. We're looking for someone who values kindness as much as competence, enjoys working closely with colleagues, and wants to be part of building something meaningful. If that sounds like the kind of law practice you've been hoping to find, we'd love to hear from you.
